'62 Corvair magazine ad

LOW PRICE IS ONLY HALF THE STORY. The copy was by Ray Clark. Ray did all the copy for Corvair at this time. We were in a group called Experimental and Development and we were located across the street from the GM building in the Stevenson building on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit. David E. Davis Jr. was there too and he did the copy for Corvette. Those two cars were our only permanent assignments and that allowed us plenty of extra time to kind of wing it on other products. I don't remember who did the art. It may have been picked up from existing photography.

The title says this is a '62 Corvair but the car in the ad looks to me like a '61.

Do you know when and where this ad ran?

BTW, I LOVE your website. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing with us! And keep 'em coming (especially the Corvair stuff).

I think you are right. It was so long ago that I did this stuff--I know I must have made other errors too. I don't have the original ads with me as I am in The Florida Keys near our son Jim who owns a resort here. I am working from 35mm slides and some of the details are lost to me. I plan to put a ton more on the blog so please stop in now and then.
