ISN'T THAT A CHEVY UP AHEAD? What an incredible way to do a leadership ad. Jim Hartzell [The Jim Hartzell of Baseball, Hot dogs, Apple Pie, and Chevrolet] did the copy and Tony Longo was the art director. The two of them did a tremendous number of great ads for Chevrolet and I'll be showing you lots of them. This ad outlined the Chevrolet leadership position as it then existed and it was formidable with cars like Impala and Caprice. The Chevy Chevette and Citation had been introduced and Chevy had more cars on the road than anybody. Trucks were going great too. I take a deep breath and look back at this time with a big sigh.
